A Binder of Notes from Freshmen Year ClassesI recently compiled all 30 credit hours worth of work from freshmen year into a two inch binder. Let's just say there was a lot of hole punch remnants everywhere. I'm so glad I made this binder though because that means I can look back at my notes if I need help in new classes next semester that have built off of previous classes. It really wasn't that hard to make the binder. It was just very time consuming.

So today was my first day as a nanny. The kids were adorable. They were waiting at the door for me whenever I pulled up. "Miss Piper". Thats what they call me and it was so adorable. 4 Kids: youngest is Michael, then Katie, then Sammy, and the oldest is Abby. They made my first day so easy but I did learn some things. 1. Know the Security Items of the Young Kids
2. Don't Trust Anyone but the Second Oldest
3. Watch the Gum
4. Check-Lists are Your Friend
5. Naptime is the Best Part of the Day
After just one day of being a nanny and I learned a lot. I can't wait to keep hanging out with these kids. I doubt I will ever stop learning from these kids. Ill update you guys as I experience more.
-Xoxo Piper Off Classic Movie: Its A Boy Girl ThingI was really excited to watch this movie because I love those romances where the boy and girl hate each other and then fall in love... spoiler alert. Just kidding at the beginning of this movie you already know that they will have to fall in love. Its like Freaky Friday but switching gender instead of age. Its sooo funny. A girl in a boys body now has to deal with boners and a boy in a girls body has to figure out how to put on a bra. It is hilarious watching it.
Title: It's a Boy Girl Thing Released: 2006 (so its somewhat modern) Genre: Comedy, Romance, Fantasy Available on Netflix: unfortunately not... Summary: Boy- jock, unintelligent, man slut. Girl- nerd, Shakespeare lover, virgin. Living next door to each other has caused them to be sworn enemies. Crazy Mexican God status thing causes them to switch bodies. At first they use this as revenge trying to ruin each others lives, until they realize that is getting them nowhere. They have to figure out a way to work together in order to help their future dreams of college come true. My Rating: 7/10... it lost me in the middle. Beginning funny. Ending adorable. I would highly suggest this movie because it is hilarious. It totally brings to light the truths of what girls and guys don't understand about each other. Plus hate-love relationships are adorable. -Xoxo Piper As Piper said before, both her and I have started nannying for different families this summer! I love nannying, but without a schedule the kids can get really bored really quickly. So here are a few of the boredom busters I've been using! Indoor Fun Watch a movie. Great for if you need some peace and quiet.Apps on iPads are the best for keeping kids entertained!Bake something. Just make sure to keep close supervision.Curl Hair and Paint Nails. The girls loved when I did this.Play a board game. Sibling rivalry might cause issues so use with caution.Read a book. Reading is a great way to keep kids entertained and learning.Outdoor Fun Go to the pool or the park. It will get them tired out!Blow bubbles outside.Make a masterpiece with sidewalk chalkRide a bikeSwing on a swingsetHave a water balloon fight. Just make sure no one is allowed to hit anyone's face.<3 Ellie
Tomorrow I start my summer job. I could not be more excited. Going into Early Childhood Education, being a nanny is the best summer job I could ask for. Anyways. I thought that as I experience being a nanny for the first time, I will learn alot. So I thought I would share some stuff with you guys. Who knows, being a nanny seems to be popular these days. Ellie is nannying for a family down her street so she might be able to give you guys tips too. Today my family messaged me telling some things to be prepared with. They told me to bring a Nanny Bag. They told me to pack a bag with anything I might want since I am spending 11 hours at their house everyday. I thought this was a great idea so I thought I would share with you guys what I am putting in my Nanny Bag. Phone Charger
Sweatpants
Change of ClothesFirst Aid Kit
Tampons and Pads
So that's all I have in my Nanny Bag as of right now... but you never know... What would you put in your nanny bag? Wish me luck on my first day tomorrow with the kiddos and I will most likely update you tomorrow on the adventures of Day 1.
-Xoxo Piper College shopping lists are great, really. But there are some things that you just don't know that you need until you actually get to college. This definitely is not a complete list, so I might add to it as I remember more of the items that I realized I needed within the first few weeks of college. :)

I hate physical activity. In college, you walk everywhere, unless your lazy like we were first semester and take the shuttle everywhere. No matter if your going to a small campus or a huge campus, you will spend at least 50% of your college life walking to class, to get food, or back to the dorm. Half your college life will be spent running to get to class on time, walking all the way across campus to get the "good food", or just walking around for the hell of it. You walk a lot...
Toward the end of the year, I started to want to be more healthy... yea yea. (You'll get this way too when you notice the freshman 15.) Anyways. I wondered how much walking I actually did so I downloaded a pedometer app. It changed my life. I walked almost 6,000 steps in one day. It blew my mind. One day I reached 12,000 steps. That day I felt amazing. I quit taking the shuttle, enjoyed the outdoors, and actually walked everywhere. I wanted to see how many steps I could take in a day. At the end of the day, I look at how many steps I have taken and I feel accomplished. I bet you will feel the same way. So for college, download a pedometer. It will make you feel amazing after running to class or walking across campus for food to know that you took (insert number of steps here). I promise. Plus... THE MORE YOU WALK THE MORE YOU CAN EAT. or at least that's my motto... -Xoxo Piper Turvis TumblersI literally spend $60 on new tumblers the other day. I got a Cardinals one, a new college one, and one with my initial on it. I was literally going in for one, and walked out with 3. I don't know how I can afford to buy as many as I do, but I do. I don't just like Tervis Tumblers though. I also love the normal ones with straws as well. I always go into a store, and just end up finding one. I love cups! So some people enjoy having large collections of items, because thats just who they are...I am that person on so many levels. I literally hoard everything... Nail PolishI buy a color, use it once, put it into my nail polish box and forget about it. Half the time I don't even end up using nail polish because I don't have the patience to let my nail polish dry. MakeupIf you were to ask my roommates, they would tell you I hoard nail polish. Piper pointed out to me one day that I had a lot of lipstick. Then she pointed out something else. She brought up the fact that she has never seen me wear lipstick, thats probably because I NEVER wear lipstick. I just find the colors, and think they're pretty. Then they end up in my cart and then in my Vera Bradley makeup holder. Hair productsHairspray, heat protectant, dry shampoo, I buy it all. And never use it. Hair accessoriesHair clips, headbands, ponytails stuff like that. And, if you look around our dorm room or my bathroom at home, you can see where i have been by the trail of bobby pins I leave. Love,
Meredith So I've decided that since I don't really have a life as of now... I am starting a new series on the blog. It's called Piper's Pick and its exactly what it sounds like. My Picks. When I see a movie or tv show that I like or think is interesting or amazing, I will post about it. I'll give it a rating and a summary much better than the one they most likely offer on Wikipedia or IMDB. This is just to put hints out there of what you should maybe watch next.... I know that this series may not last forever but hey... for now I think its a good idea.
I've already posted one about She's All That, but don't worry there will be more. -Xoxo Piper Feel Good Movie: She's All ThatSince it is summer and I haven't started my summer job yet... I have been hardcore netflixing.
Today I was feeling very romancy... I wanted something to rip out my heart but at the same time make me "awwww" every once and a while. That is when I remembered this beautiful movie. I have seen it sooo many times but it never gets old. Title: She's All That Released: 1999 (Holy shit... I was 3 years only) Genre: Comedy and Romance (my favorite two things) Available on Netflix: HELL YES Summary: This super attractive guy makes a bet that we can turn this "nerdy" girl (who is supposed to be unattractive but is actually kinda pretty) into the prom queen. My Rating: 10/10 This movie is one you need to watch or even rewatch when you are feeling like you need some lovin or suffering from the lonely blues. Let's get real... Hot guy falls in love with nerdy girl... You cannot go wrong with that. I fall in love all over when I watch this movie. -Xoxo Piper |
