A Binder of Notes from Freshmen Year ClassesI recently compiled all 30 credit hours worth of work from freshmen year into a two inch binder. Let's just say there was a lot of hole punch remnants everywhere. I'm so glad I made this binder though because that means I can look back at my notes if I need help in new classes next semester that have built off of previous classes. It really wasn't that hard to make the binder. It was just very time consuming.

College shopping lists are great, really. But there are some things that you just don't know that you need until you actually get to college. This definitely is not a complete list, so I might add to it as I remember more of the items that I realized I needed within the first few weeks of college. :)

BookcaseThis is another new addition to Room 125. We decided that in order to fit the Keurig on Piper's dresser we needed to move her binders off of it. So the solution? A bookcase that we can all use. Our desks are a lot better organized because of it. It's great!
<3 Ellie KeurigThis is a new edition to Room 125 this semester. Piper got it as a Christmas gift and absolutely had to bring it back to the dorm in January. I love it. It's great because it takes little to no time in the mornings to make it, and I've saved loads of money that I would have been using at Starbucks!
<3 Ellie Large Trash CanThis is a must for any college student. You can't just pile up all your trash on the floor. And the bigger the trash can the better. The picture above is the exact trash can we have and we fill it up at least twice every day. Also, don't get one with a lid. Piper and I usually throw stuff into the trash can while we're sitting on our lofted beds, so it would be kinda difficult if there were a lid in the way.
<3 Ellie Rain JacketIn high school, most if not all of your classes were in the same building. This isn't the case for college though. You'll have to walk outside to a different building for each class most likely. This is why it's important to have a rain jacket in your dorm room closet. You'll be thankful you have it when you see the forecast for tomorrow is rain, rain, and more rain.
<3 Ellie Rolling ChairThe chairs that are in the room when you first move in are not that great. You'll be much happier if you have a comfy rolling chair that you can relax in.
And for Piper and I, we use our old chairs as a step ladder to get onto our beds. So we didn't want to have to move it back and forth between our desks and the beds all the time. Plus, they provide more seating for friends. That way they don't have to sit on the floor. <3 Ellie PrinterA printer is definitely a must for any college student. It's really nice to be able to print things off in your room rather than going across campus to a computer lab. And your roommates will love you. Piper and I have it worked out where I bought the printer and some ink and Piper gets the paper. It's really nice!
<3 Ellie Shout Color CatcherI absolutely love color catchers. It's like they were made specifically for college students! Basically, they "catch" the color dye on the sheet. So you can wash your reds with shirts that are mostly white, and nothing will turn pink. I still separate my clothes into lights and darks, but I don't have to separate them any further. So I only have 2 loads of laundry compared to other people who might have 3 or 4. And when you live in a college dorm, everyone is always fighting for washers and dryers. But I don't have to deal with it. It's such a lifesaver!
<3 Ellie Memory BoxFor my birthday, Lillian made me a memory box. I would put a picture of it on here, but it has my initials on it. Basically it's a wooden box that she painted where I can keep anything that reminds me of fun college events. Some of the items that are in it now are ticket stubs, hospital bracelets, and letters I've received in the mail. It's cool because whenever I'm sad I look at all the items in the box, and it instantly makes me happy again!
