The Struggle Bus: Room 125 |

BookcaseThis is another new addition to Room 125. We decided that in order to fit the Keurig on Piper's dresser we needed to move her binders off of it. So the solution? A bookcase that we can all use. Our desks are a lot better organized because of it. It's great!

KeurigThis is a new edition to Room 125 this semester. Piper got it as a Christmas gift and absolutely had to bring it back to the dorm in January. I love it. It's great because it takes little to no time in the mornings to make it, and I've saved loads of money that I would have been using at Starbucks!
<3 Ellie Everyone has different ways of learning information from their classes. Piper and I were just talking about this. Our history professor posts our powerpoints online, so Piper likes to type out the information on there onto her own Word document. This works really well for her, but not for me. I'm more of an auditory learner. Last semester, I would record myself saying my psychology notes out loud and then listen to it when I was getting ready in the morning or during any free time I had. I figured out that this is how I learn best, by saying it out loud.
So my advice to you? Try various methods to see what works for you. It might take a while, but it will be so nice once you figure it out. Your life will be so much better. <3 Ellie So how's it going guys? Please don't be mad at me because I haven't posted in forever. It's been quite a while, I know. I really did mean to keep writing in the blog, but I honestly just didn't have time last semester. Everything was so hectic. Studying for finals is not a fun time at all. But now that it's the beginning of a new semester, I have a little extra time.
So...I think some updates are in order. First, I was on a gluten free diet for a while because my GI doctor thought it might help with stomach pain. It worked for a little while, but then it stopped. So now it's back to normal food for me. They're thinking of changing my medication again, but we've decided to try to stick to the medication I'm on now for a little while. Second update: I'm dating Ethan again! After this past semester I realized that I really do have feelings for him. Our past relationship was rushed, and we barely knew each other. But now that it's been a few months, I've realized that I really do like him. It's been a little over a week that we've been dating, and it has been amazing. I'm so happy. So I'm sorry that I haven't posted in forever, but hopefully I'll be able to write more often this semester because I really love this blog! <3 Ellie Large Trash CanThis is a must for any college student. You can't just pile up all your trash on the floor. And the bigger the trash can the better. The picture above is the exact trash can we have and we fill it up at least twice every day. Also, don't get one with a lid. Piper and I usually throw stuff into the trash can while we're sitting on our lofted beds, so it would be kinda difficult if there were a lid in the way.
<3 Ellie Rain JacketIn high school, most if not all of your classes were in the same building. This isn't the case for college though. You'll have to walk outside to a different building for each class most likely. This is why it's important to have a rain jacket in your dorm room closet. You'll be thankful you have it when you see the forecast for tomorrow is rain, rain, and more rain.
<3 Ellie "Here's the mail. It never fails. It makes me wanna wag my tail. When it comes I wanna wail MAIL!!!!!" Piper had the great idea the other day to get some cards to send to her relatives. So I decided to do the same for my relatives. It's a great way to keep in touch with family, and every college student loves sending and receiving mail.
So I got the addresses of my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, and all my friends so that I could send them some snail mail. Then Piper and I went to Walmart to get those 49 cents greeting cards. The card doesn't have to be fancy because you can enclose a letter written on lined paper with everything you want to tell the person. And there are a lot of cute, decorative cards for 49 cents. So get out a pen and some paper and start that letter! <3 Ellie Piper says a lot of funny shit during the day, but she gets even funnier after midnight. If she's near a lot of people right before bed, then it takes a long time for her to wind down. So I decided to start writing down all this crazy shit she says while we're both laying in our beds so that I can share with you the highly intelligent, serious conversations that we have at 2 in the morning. When it's night time I like to pop my foot.I need elbow pads so no one will hear me hit the wall.If you look over here...oh well you probably can't see... because you're not here.*starts singing national anthem*Who decided America was a "her" anyway?!I'm a butterfly, bitch.Questions for Jesus: Could you drown in your own saliva? Do lips absorb chapstick...questions for Jesus. Can dogs be deaf?FYI: Those last three were all said within a span of approximately 2.385 minutes.
<3 Ellie These butts were made for sitting and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these butts will start hurting you.I was looking at this dash thinking it was really fat then I realized it was an equal sign.Fuck this shit I need my cheese balls.I moved this pillow just to glare at you.I got cheese balls on my laptop. The reunitation at the band competition was just majestic.I'm the sun and you're a star. It's not my fault I shine brighter than you. It's like an umbrella. Except it's flat and I don't have to hold it.(As she laid down under a table, shielding her eyes from the fluorescent lights) Maybe if we went to church Jesus would fix our air conditioning.<3 Ellie
Rolling ChairThe chairs that are in the room when you first move in are not that great. You'll be much happier if you have a comfy rolling chair that you can relax in.
And for Piper and I, we use our old chairs as a step ladder to get onto our beds. So we didn't want to have to move it back and forth between our desks and the beds all the time. Plus, they provide more seating for friends. That way they don't have to sit on the floor. <3 Ellie |
