Awkward Moments?
Laugh it Off
When Parker and I were dating, we had the same lunch period so we would always get food, sit and eat, and then walk to a bench to sit until the next class period. Most high schools have the most disgusting lunches ever, so I never ate much. Everyday I got spaghetti, only because I liked the breadstick and the lunch lady knew I got the same thing everyday so I didn't have to talk. I know, very anti-social. Well, Parker would sometimes get spaghetti as well in order to walk through the line with me. One day, we had just picked our spaghetti from the counter and were making our way to the checkout counter. Parker, being the dude he is, wanted to show off. As we were waiting in line, he tried to carry his lunch tray with one hand and then have his arm around me with the other. We all know how this is going to end. No guy should try to put his arm around a girl when food is involved. Lets just say he did not have a great grip on the lunch tray and he dropped his spaghetti all over the floor. Parker was wearing white shoes, which became orange after that day because of the spaghetti sauce. He looked so embarrassed, literally he looked like he wanted to run away and hide. I was laughing, but trying to hide it. Finally, he started laughing and accepted he fucked up. The shoes became an inside joke, because he would always wear them when we hung out. Oh his spaghetti shoes... Anyway, the point is that he didn't make it a bad memory from being embarrassed, he accepted it and made it hilarious.
Just laugh it off. Don't take an accident as a bad thing or else it will be a bad memory. Treat it like a funny incident and make it into a joke that you will look back upon and laugh. Relationships should have those funny moments to look back on, so make as many as possible.
